Erykah Badu Offends Muslim groups - Concert Cancelled
Erykah Badu's Malaysian concert which was set for tomorrow is now cancelled.
Apparently R&B star Badu offended several Muslim groups when a picture of her appeared in the Malaysian newspaper "The Star" of her with Aramaic and Hebrew words tattooed on her body. The word "Allah" was also tattooed on her shoulder.
Tattoo's in the Muslim world is forbidden as is using the word "Allah" in a dishonorable way.
The picture is also posted on Badu's website as no one knows if the tattoo's are permanent.
Erykah is regretful about the incident and is allowed to stay in Malaysia as a tourist but cannot perform.

Derrick Rose Back for Second Game
According to Chicago Bulls staff Derrick Rose is showing no signs of post injury stress after returning to the team from back problems. Rose was suffering from lower back spasms which could only be cured from massage and rest.
After scoring 23 points on Monday in a win over Atlanta Rose will go again tonight as the Bulls face the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bulls were on a 4 game winning streak before Rose left and went 3-2 without him in the lineup.

Reporter Mistakes Eddie George for Calvin Johnson
A Reporter spotted Eddie George at LAX airport only the reporter did'nt know he was Eddie George. He thought he was Calvin Johnson. Those two look nothing alike so apparently this reporter is not a sports fan. Well it gets even more interesting when Eddie decides to play along.

Lin and Knicks Show and Prove
What a game in New York's Madison Square Garden. The Knicks defeat the defending champion Dallas Mavericks. The Knicks played with confidence as they kept the Mavs on their heels the whole game. The first half was back and forth and included a 17-0 New York run. Jeremy Lin continued to quiet all doubters as he caused havoc in the lane feeding his team mates as well as driving in to score himself. New addition JR Smith contributed in the first half with 9 points. In spite of the good start Dallas was able to get out of first half with 2 point lead 45-48. In the 3rd quarter New York went on a 7-0 run as they looked sharp and in control. The Knicks had 10 steals in the first 3 quarters. They were up by 9 with 4: 44 left in game but Dallas showed the ultimate act of respect for Lin with 2: 00 left game, they put Shawn Marion on him. If Marion is guarding you during crunch time then you have arrived and have been recognized as a legitimate threat as he is Dallas's best defender. New York held on and won the game by the score of 104-97. Lin finished with 28 points 14 assist and 5 steals. The Knicks appear to have all the pieces and chemistry needed. It looks as though they enjoy playing together and their is no sense of selfishness on this team. If Carmelo comes in and blends well the Knicks could be trouble in the playoffs.

Chad the Real Deal
Y'all thought I was bull shitting, just showed up to @choppacitymayne house. twitpic.com/8k25ul
— Chad Ochocinco (@ochocinco) February 15, 2012Chad Ochocinco showed that he is the real deal. How many professional athletes would show up at a fans house on a whim. Last night while out cruising Chad saw a tweet from a fan asking if he would come over and visit him.
What street i'm comn RT @ChoppaCityMayne: since your cruising around Miami slide through my neighborhood Hialeah it ain't far from carol cityChad without hesitation agreed to pay the fan a visit. You have to admit that's very impressing seeing that Ochocinco does not put himself above his fans but he makes himself very accessible. I may have in the past critiqued his play as a football player but as a person he gets much respect. Chad Ochocinco you are the Real Deal.

The Lin Training is Rolling.
Once again Jeremy Lin has saved the day. I watched the Knicks-Raptors game and my thinking at halftime was its not happening tonight. With the Knicks down by 11 at the half and the way Toronto's Jose Calderon was shooting I figured Lin's luck is over tonight its been a good run, at that point he had only 9 points and was turning the ball over way too much. Later in the 4th quarter around 1:25 Iman Shumpert dunks the ball making it 84-87 and only a three point deficit I felt the momentum shift and thought this is anybodies game. With about 1:00 left in the game Lin hits a free throw and ties it up and this sets up what I would consider the greatest comeback finish of the season. With .20 left Jeremy Lin sets up at the top of the arc and commands his team to clear out so that he could go one-on-one with Jose Calderon. It was only fitting seeing that Calderon had been torching the Knicks all night. At about .09 Lin gives Calderon a taste of his own medicine with a 23 foot swoosher, nothing but net. This gave the Knicks a 3 point lead with .05 left and won the game. Linsanity is still alive!. Amare Stoudemaire finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds in his return.

Dwight Howard too Focused on Being "That Guy"
Dwight Howard let the cat out of the bag Monday after the Timberwolves game when he made the statement that he wants to be the "go to guy". This was an unforeseen gesture considering the Magic's
18 - 11 start winning 6 of the last 8 games. Howard says he wants the ball at crunch time when the game is on the line. He believes that in order for him to be seen as a great player he has to be the one finishing the games. I say " if it ain't broke don't fix it". Howard is only shooting about 50% from the stripe and to become a great closer you have got to knock down your free throws when it really counts. In order for Howard to play the "Kobe" role for his team he is going to have to become more consistant from 15 feet and that would probably take away what he does best which is playing close to the basket blocking shots and dunking. Who knows how long of a learning curve it would be for Howard to expand his game especially on a team that needs to win now. This plea for the ball could easily be taken as selfish as the focus should be on winning not who gets the ball in the last minutes. I say play to your strengths and become better as a team. I believe that in the end when Howard reflects on his career the number of Championships won will easily overshadow the number of balls chucked up at the end of games.

What if Jeremy Lin...
Jeremy Lin lit up NBA stat sheets last week as he was able to lead the New York Knicks to four consecutive wins. In each game he dropped at least 23 points points on the opponent, 38 on the Los Angeles Lakers. He led all Knicks scorers in all but one of the 4 games in which he was still able to still log 10 assist.
You see the unique thing about Lin is that he is a Harvard grad of Oriental descent who was all but given up on by the league. He was undrafted and cut by 2 other teams before the Knicks picked him up. Since he has been with the Knicks he has been riding the bench sleeping on his brothers couch probably awaiting the inevitable which is to be cut from the team. Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni was quoted as saying " I like his speed but I don't think he finishes well or can play defense".
Jeremy got his first NBA start on Monday February 6th 2012 against the Utah Jazz. His number was called due to a Carmello Anthony groin injury and a leave of absence for Amare Stoudemire. Baron Davis was also injured so D'antoni started Lin out of desperation in hopes that he would provide a spark until his star players returned. Lin put up 28 in that victory and has been in the starting lineup ever since.
Everyone's wondering how long will it last. Is he the real deal or an overachieving bench warmer?
Will the league eventually catch up to him or will he continue to rise to the challenge and prove that he is elite? This is yet to be seen but if he is the real deal then Wow! I never saw this coming. I was just having fun pondering what if one day we could mention in the same sentence Jordan, Magic, Bird...Lin???. In the next ten years Lin could lead the Knicks to 6 championships while winning several MVP awards and scoring titles.
He could be the NBA's first Chinese superstar and solidify himself a spot in the Basketball
Hall of Fame or... maybe not. Anyway it fun to watch as it unravels.

The Keys To Happiness: 10 Things To Remember
As move throughout the day our mood changes. Like a roller coaster ride we are up and down. We forget the joy we felt when rising that morning and without notice we exchange it for feelings of fear, uncertainty, worry, and sometimes anger.
Here are 10 things that we should constantly remind ourselves of in order to sustain our confidence, happiness and joy throughout the day:
2. You have special talents and things that you can do quite easily that other people struggle with. You may not have discovered what it is yet. Seek and you will find.
3. If all else fails you have family and friends just waiting for you to call and ask for help. You may not have noticed but their is someone watching from afar that wants to help, they just need you to ask.
4. Setbacks and disappointments can build strength in character when handled accordingly. Think of yourself as a prize fighter and come out swinging. Don't be a quitter and give up.
5. Experience is the best teacher. Learn from your mistakes. Most of the worlds most successful people know what they know because of the mistakes they have made.
6. Don't take yourself too serious. Learn to laugh, especially at yourself. Nobody's perfect and too high of a self expectation can often lead to depression.
7. Just because everyone else is angry don't mean you have to be angry. You are an individual uniquely created. You are allowed to disagree, remember misery loves company.
8.You are a leader which means you are naturally going to make decisions others are afraid to make. Although every decision may not be the correct one, it comes with the territory.
9.Don't be so judgmental of others. You never know what the next person is going through. Things that seem intentional may very well be unintentional.
10.Life is short. Enjoy everyday. All you have is now. Why worry about next week, when tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

Christy Walton Richest Woman In The World
Christy Walton (56) widow of John Walton, one of the sons of Sam Walton the founder of Walmart currently ranks at number six on the Forbes list of richest people in America. She is the first woman on the list which makes her currently the richest woman in the world. Her net worth is 26.5 billion with most of it coming from her shares in Walmart. She has one son and currently resides in Jackson, WY.
She received an inheritance of 15.7 billion after her husband John Walton was killed on June 27, 2005 while piloting an experimental aircraft. John a former Vietnam combat medic had improperly reinstalled the planes rear locking collar causing him to lose Pitch control. The plane went down almost immediately after takeoff.
Christy has often been labeled as one of the worlds meanest billionaires when she refused to take part in the Living Pledge Project, a project in which Bill Gates and 39 other wealthy Americans have pledged to give at least half of their gigantic fortunes to charity during their lifetime. Half of Christy's fortune would be enough to sustain most people through ten lifetimes but she has the right to decide where her money goes. This is just a little something to think about the next time you pull into the parking lot of your favorite Walmart.

Bruce Willis In Great Shape at 56
If you payed attention to the commercials during the Super Bowl you probably caught the teaser for the upcoming action movie "GI Joe: Retaliation". This is a new movie from producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura the same man who produced all of the "Transformer" movies. It co-stars Bruce Willis who plays General Joe Colton the man who founded the GI Joe team.
I must admit I am a huge Bruce Willis fan from back in his "Die Hard" days. Bruce has a swag about him and is very good at playing the "gritty-can't catch a break-tough guy" roles. My first thought when I saw the commercial was "Wow Bruce is back ", I figured Bruce had hung up the gun holster and six pack for a much deserved Hollywood retirement which usually means sitting in a beach house somewhere getting fat. To my surprise Bruce Willis now 56 years looks as though he can still rumble with the best of them and appears to be in great shape.
Well how does he do it you might ask...diet and exercise.
I know you've heard it all before but according to Hollywood's most successful personal trainers there is no other way to preserve your body other than diet and exercise and Bruce Willis takes it seriously. Bruce keeps off the mid-age flab by doing an hour long session of cardio and strength exercises everyday, especially if he know he's going to be filming soon. Even on the set during lunch he works out with an exercise ball. As we get older our metabolism slows down, Gunnar Peterson Willis' personal trainer recommends eating smaller meals that contain at least 3to 5 oz. of protein such as chicken, tofu or turkey. He recommends avoiding flour and sugar and consuming more fruits and vegetables instead.
Man! seeing Bruce Willis in great shape has really inspired me seeing that even at the age of 56 you can still have a few tricks up your sleeve.
Super Bowl 46 -The Experience
This year I think the NFL and NBC did a fantastic job in the area of presentation for Super Bowl 46.
There were lots of former and current NFL players involved in the breakdown and analyzing of the game. I thought it was kind of funny watching Aaron Rogers in the booth breaking down a game in which just two months ago most of us predicted he would be playing in. I really enjoyed the pre-game locker room camera and tunnel walk as we were allowed to look into the face of pro football players preparing to play the biggest game of their life.
I thought that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lamberts rendition of "America the Beautiful" was a bit too twangy, I mean they are both well respected and accomplished artist in the country genre but I don't think they were able to nail this song which can be very emotional when done by the right person. Kelly Clarkson on the other hand I though did a good job singing the national anthem.
The game was commentated by Al Michaels whom I've admired since his Monday Night Football days and Chris Collinsworth who's style it took me some time to get used to but over time have grown to like.
From the beginning of the game The New York Giants clearly appeared to be the better team. The Patriots could not catch a break and if it wasn't for bad luck they had no luck at all. After a Steve Weatherford punt that pinned New England down on their own 6-yard line Tom Brady who is forced back into the end zone throws a deep middle incomplete pass which is ruled intentional grounding and results in a safety giving the Giants a 2 point lead and the ball only 6 minutes into the first quarter.
On the Giants second drive of the game they were able to move the ball quite effectively thanks to poor tackling and bad positioning by New England cornerback Kyle Arrington. New England had seemed to catch a break when Victor Cruz fumbled on the 5 yard line. The fumble was recovered by Brandon Spikes only to be reversed by a 12 men on the field penalty against new England. Two plays later Victor Cruz was doing the Salsa in the endzone just after catching a two yard tochdown pass from Eli manning. After the extra point the score was now 9-0 Giants.
With four minutes left in the first half and New England's only score coming from a Gostkowski 29- yard field goal things were looking bleak for the Patriots who was down 9-3 and starting once again on their own 4 yard line. On this drive the Patriots looked like themselves as Tom Brady orchestrated a 96-yard drive completing passes to Welker, Hernandez, and even a 20-yard pass to Rob Gronkowski early in the drive. The 4-yard touchdown pass to Woodhead and Gostkowski extra point put the Patriots up 10-9 going into halftime. That Patriot drive tied the record for longest drive in Super bowl history.
I thought the halftime show was pretty safe and boring just like the Super Bowl committee likes it. Madonna who looks pretty good for her age kept the celebration rolling along as planned and other than an obscene hand gesture by British rapper M.I.A. trying to generate publicity this years halftime show was at least watchable.
On the first drive of the second half Brady once again led the Patriots on an 8 play drive resulting in a 12 yard touchdown pass to Aaron Hernandez. This put New England up 17-9 and had me thinking that the Patriots had finally hit their stride and were about to morph into that unstoppable offensive machine we know that they can become.
Going into the fourth quarter the Giants could only muster two field goals in the third and found themselves down 17-15 with New England holding the ball. At 14:31 in the fourth quarter Brady who was forced out the pocket by Giants tackle Mathias Kiwanuka heaved up a deep pass to Gronkowski, the pass was intercepted by linebacker Chase Blackburn and shifted the momentum back onto the side of the New York Giants. This I believe was a key stop in the game and kept the Giants within one score of taking the lead. The Patriots were able to stop the Giants on there next drive and get the ball back but at 4:06 in the fourth quarter the Patriots missed an opportunity for a big gain when Brady found Welker wide open at the Giants 20-yard line and Welker although getting both hands on the ball could not bring it down. This play was crucial because if Welker catches this ball it puts the Patriots on at least at the giants 20-yard line. With a first-down a little under Four minutes left in the game a touchdown here I believe would have won the game for the Patriots. The Giants would have had to score twice with less than 3:50 remaining in game. Instead, The Giants found themselves holding the ball with 3:46 left in game and down by only 3 points.
The Giants first play of the drive was a 38-yard pass to Mario Manningham who was pushed out of bounds at the 50-yard line. It was clear to see from the replay that Manning threw this ball into cover 2 as Patrick Chung rolled over to help Sterling moore in coverage. Chung was a little too late and Manningham made a great adjustment on the catch. Two more catches by Manningham a catch by Hakeem Nicks and two runs by Ahmaad Bradshaw put the Giants on the New England 6-yard line with 1:07 left in the game. This is where I thought we got a glimpse into what makes Belichick such a great coach and separates him from the rest. Instead of defending the touchdown Belichick decides to let the Giants score in order to put the ball back into the hands of his future Hall of Fame quarterback with less than 1:00 left. As Bradshaw goes in for the easy touchdown he stops just at the goal line and hesitantly falls into the end zone unsure of how he should react and probably realizing a minute later if New England go on to score in the last few minutes he will instantly become the goat of the game. After a failed 2-point conversion by the Giants New England gets the ball on their own 20-yard line down 21-17 with 57 seconds left in the game. A Justin Tuck sack on 3rd and 10 pushed the Patriots back to the 14-yard line setting up a 4th and 16. Brady was able to convert the first down with a 19 yard pass to Deion Branch. After another 11-yard pass to Hernandez and a defensive 12 men on the field penalty against the Giants the game came down to the Patriots standing on their own 49-yard line with 5 seconds left in the game hoping for a miracle. It didn't happen, Brady was able to launch a deep pass to the end zone intended for Hernandez but it was unsuccessful and the New York Giants went on to become the 2012 NFL super Bowl Champions.
Although I didn't have a dog in the fight I thought it was a pretty entertaining game. The score remained close throughout the game and I wouldn't say either team dominated the other, the outcome was for the most part unpredictable. Oh yeah... I would be rimiss if I didn't mention Chad Ochocinco, 1 catch for 21 yards at 14:54 in the 3rd quarter.

Chad Ochocinco, What Happened?
Let's face it Ochocinco is not Randy Moss. He isn't who we thought he was. I've come to realize myself that for years Chad has been getting by on raw talent alone and not football intelligence. This would explain why less athletic recievers on the Patriots are out-performing him. Number 85 has been exposed. On top of all this Chad when questioned on media day about the chances of him improving his performance told reporters that "I never said I am a elite reciever, it was you guy's who gave me that label. I just like to talk sh*t and have fun. Talk about a defeated outlook. "Ochocino seems to be a great guy and his harmless media antics has never seemed in the past to hurt his team's chemistry but sadly this year may be his only shot at a Superbowl ring this Sunday in a game that I don't expect to see him play. I believe the Patriots will release Chad after this season and I really don't forsee a list of championship contenders lining up for his services. Just about all of the top tier teams have pretty decent recieving cores and the chances of keeping Chads mouth under wraps for another year may be slim to none.
Phizer recalls birth control pills
Phizer is recalling 1 million packets of birth control pills due to the fact that they do not contain enough contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
The recall is due to a breakdown in the mechanical and visual inspection process. The problem is that some packs contain too many or not enough active pills. Most birth control packs come with 28 pills with seven pills being placebos to keep women on schedule during their menstrual cycle.
What this means is that their is some women out there without adequate contraception and are at risk of unintended pregnancy.
The affected packets have expiration dates ranging from July 2013 to March 2014.

Blakes Dunk
As many of us know Blake Griffin dunked over Kendrick Perkins Monday night in an NBA battle between The Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder. This was the dunk heard around the world as Twitter exploded with tweets soon after it happened.
I like Blake Griffin and I've seen the dunk but come on in the end it's only two points and given the high level of athleticism of today's players that dunk was normal protocol. I guess what I'm saying is that everyone can dunk nowadays, some harder than others but everyone can dunk. So much so that I have become numb to the dunk. I know Griffins dunk was on a taller player that being Kendrick Perkins but what was Perkins to do, once Griffin left the ground it would have been useless to get in his way. Griffin just as any player leaving the ground first had the advantage. I want to see something new, maybe a player doing a front no-hand flip and dunking or something amazing like that. Somebody needs to dunk in a fashion that really sets them apart from the pack kinda like when Jordan jumped from the free throw line and dunked back in the day. Oh well that's my opinion and for the record I'm not a fan of either of these teams but I am a fan of the NBA so I'll continue to watch with the hope that one day I will see that dunk that knocks me out of seat and send me scrambling to my Twitter account.
Newt's moon colony by Tim Douglas
Instead of New York, Paris, Rome, or Cancun, how about the moon. Newt Gingrich wants to fly us to the moon. If elected president he is proposing to fund a program that would turn the moon into a tourist attraction. For what I'm sure would be a large sum of money you and your family could take a round trip vacation on the moon. I mean it's only about 238, 000 miles away, surely most Americans can afford to take a month off from work to make the trip.
I think Newt's got his head in the clouds on this one. Before we start building hotels and gift shops on the moon how about we focus on what's going on here on earth.
Ideas like this does stretch the imagination and cast much attention on our technological potential but within the shadow of our current social, economical, and global state this is probably not even worth discussing at this point, especially if your trying to become the next president. No way! not now! Mr. Newt Ging-RICH.

Peyton Manning times up.

Oh where Oh where will Peyton end up , Oh where Oh where will he be. Peyton Manning has about a month left as a Colt. In spite of him only winning only one Superbowl in his 13 years in the NFL he has in that same amount of time solidified himself as one of the top 3 quarterbacks in the game and a lock for the pro football hall of fame.
To assume that Manning would ever play for any other team besides the Colts would have been unimaginable a year ago but today it is completely inevitable. With a 35 year old Manning now recovering from his third neck surgery and the Indianapolis Colts coming off of it's worst season in 20 years giving them the first draft pick in a draft that includes two of the most gifted college quarterbacks of the last decade,The stars have aligned and a window has opened for the Colts to transition over to it's next signal caller which would be the most important piece in building a solid foundation for a successful future. If Manning is still on the roster on March 8th the Colts will have to pay him 28 million and tie up much needed funds that could be used to strengthen weaknesses in key areas on the team. They are also going to need at least 4 million to sign one of the top two rookie quarterback prospects.
With all of this said Peyton should have no problem finding work if he decides to keep playing. Teams such as The Jets, Redskins, Dolphins, and 49ers could all use quarterback help and would gladly welcome a seasoned vet with the resume of a Peyton Manning. Although for this week the Superbowl overshadows all other football drama this situation will be monitored by millions of NFL fans as it continues to unravel so stay tuned.
The I-75 Florida crashes
Smoke in the night is believed to be the reason 10 people were killed and 21 sent to the hospital on Saturday January the 28th of 2012. It all started about 11: 30 pm. Cars and semis were slowing down and even stopping in the middle of the north and southbound lanes of I-75 near Gainsville. The reason they were stopping was due to zero visibility caused by brush fires in Paynes Prarie state park. This along with the darkness of night made for extremely dangerous driving conditions. Cars were struck from behind as oncoming traffic had no idea what was going on in front of them. Within minutes the highway was littered with broken glass and burning vehicles. In the end it was a total of 12 passenger cars 7 semis involved. Investigators are now trying to determine whether the fires were intentional or an act of nature.
