Oh where Oh where will Peyton end up , Oh where Oh where will he be. Peyton Manning has about a month left as a Colt. In spite of him only winning only one Superbowl in his 13 years in the NFL he has in that same amount of time solidified himself as one of the top 3 quarterbacks in the game and a lock for the pro football hall of fame.
To assume that Manning would ever play for any other team besides the Colts would have been unimaginable a year ago but today it is completely inevitable. With a 35 year old Manning now recovering from his third neck surgery and the Indianapolis Colts coming off of it's worst season in 20 years giving them the first draft pick in a draft that includes two of the most gifted college quarterbacks of the last decade,The stars have aligned and a window has opened for the Colts to transition over to it's next signal caller which would be the most important piece in building a solid foundation for a successful future. If Manning is still on the roster on March 8th the Colts will have to pay him 28 million and tie up much needed funds that could be used to strengthen weaknesses in key areas on the team. They are also going to need at least 4 million to sign one of the top two rookie quarterback prospects.
With all of this said Peyton should have no problem finding work if he decides to keep playing. Teams such as The Jets, Redskins, Dolphins, and 49ers could all use quarterback help and would gladly welcome a seasoned vet with the resume of a Peyton Manning. Although for this week the Superbowl overshadows all other football drama this situation will be monitored by millions of NFL fans as it continues to unravel so stay tuned.
